Congratulations to Tiah Stewart for successfully defending her thesis this Fall 2024! Her thesis is entitled, Examining the Impact of Religious Coping on Institutional Racism and Alcohol Use Among African American Adults.
Congratulations to Tiah Stewart, Renae Johnson, and Spirit Frazier for attending the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) 57th Annual Convention in Seattle, WA on November 16-19, 2023. They presented their poster with the Black Americans in Research Special Interest Group (BA SIG) at the convention. The poster is entitled, Examining the Impact of Religious Coping on Institutional Racism and Alcohol Use Among African American Adults.

Congratulations to Renae Johnson, Casiah Evans, and Gabriella DislaForde, who were selected to present a 2-hour talk titled "Building Resilience in Schools: A Guide to Facilitating Trauma-informed Interventions" for the Texas Psychological Association in November. We will dedicate this talk in memory of our dearest, Dahlia Evans.
Congratulations to Annette Addo-Yobo on her recent achievements. Annette recently won the title of Miss Dallas 2023 and was also featured in a news broadcast where she shared her passion for using her platform to help other young people who are struggling with mental health issues. Annette is truly an inspiration, and we are so proud of her accomplishments.
